Fall asleep quickly using the '4 7 8' method

Posted by andypragnell on September 29, 2021 at 2:30 AM Comments comments (2)

Ancient Yoga traditions give us a breathing technique that really works in helping you get to sleep. It's scientifically proven to trigger your “rest and digest”, parasympathetic nervous system and help you to dreamland faster.

Just follow these 3 steps:

1.) Breathe in through your nose while counting four seconds.

2.) Hold your breath for a count of seven seconds.

3.) Breathe out for a count eight seconds, through pursed lips.

Repeat this up to four times - unless you are snoozing already of course!!

This exercise can be used to reduce stress at any time, not just when you want to go to sleep and the more you try it, the better at it you will get and the more effective it is.

Give it a try!

A Galactic Menagerie

Posted by andypragnell on May 24, 2021 at 12:10 AM Comments comments (0)

Each of the galaxies in this picture from the Hubble Space Telescope contains anywhere between about ten million and one trillion stars. There are estimated to be ten billion trillion (10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) stars in the observable universe, though some estimates add another 2 zeroes.

We are estimated to share the earth with one quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) ants - so there are ten million stars for every ant in our world.

The numbers are well - astronomical...

But even though we are smaller than a speck on an imaginary speck in the vast universe, we still all enjoy (and need) a good nights sleep.

Hugs Thailand can help you with that important detail of our tiny unimportant lives: https://www.hugsthailand.com/pocket-spring-mattress" target="_blank">https://www.hugsthailand.com/pocket-spring-mattress

Hovering ship pictured off the coast of Cornwall

Posted by andypragnell on April 2, 2021 at 10:15 PM Comments comments (1)

An optical illusion caused the ship to appear as though it was floating above the horizon.

Images of what appears to be a floating ship have been captured as the result of a rare optical illusion off the coast of England.

David Morris took a photo of the ship near Falmouth, Cornwall.

Meteorologist David Braine said the "superior mirage" occurred because of "special atmospheric conditions that bend light".

He said the illusion is common in the Arctic, but can appear "very rarely" in the UK during winter.

Mr Morris said he was "stunned" after capturing the picture while looking out to sea from the hamlet of Gillan in the south west corner of England.

Mr Braine said: "Superior mirages occur because of the weather condition known as a temperature inversion, where cold air lies close to the sea with warmer air above it.

"Since cold air is denser than warm air, it bends light towards the eyes of someone standing on the ground or on the coast, changing how a distant object appears.

Major Mattress Brands are just franchises in Thailand

Posted by andypragnell on December 17, 2020 at 12:40 PM Comments comments (0)

https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/902744-sealy-mattresses-where-to-get-a-good-deal/?do=findComment&comment=10526696

Many people aren't aware of this - but it is true. Simmons is another example:

"It may be of interest to know that mattress brands such as Sealy & Slumberland are operated as franchises, just like McDonalds. The parent companies license the name to local mattress manufacturers to use on product sold within that country and usually protects them from imports using the same name. Although they have to adhere to certain material and quality guidelines, they are allowed a lot of leeway to conform to different local needs.

Basically, customers here pay a huge premium for the name but don't expect a particular model of one of these brands sold in Thailand to match the same model/brand as one sold in the US or Europe."
